Fancy costumes, big parades, lots of food, fun, and friends are signs of Germany’s chilly February celebrations also known as Carnival or the “Fifth Season”. Carnival takes place right before Lent with a week of celebrations, the height being “Rosenmontag” or Rose Monday. This famous celebration takes place every year in the heart of the Rhineland close to one of International Projects’ amazing course locations in Oberwesel, Germany. Even better, IP is offering it’s 25th Deal: a 50 Euro Rebate on Oberwesel packages booked by  29.02.2012. So if you missed out on Carnival, don’t forget to take advantage of this offer!

Besides being close to the exciting Carnival activities, the town of Oberwesel is located in the Rhine Valley surrounded by water and lots of medieval attractions. One of Oberwesel’s most beautiful attractions is the Schönburg castle, which also happens to be where IP holds its English and German courses. Each year students are taken aback by the castle’s beauty, creating the perfect atmosphere to dive into a language course and have fun.

In addition to top notch language courese, IP’s Oberwesel location also offers a wide variety of recreational activities for students. Students have the opportunity to participate in everything from sports to dance, or tours of the town  during the afternoon and evenings. IP also offers excursions to cities famous for Carnival activities like Cologne, in addition to other locations such as St. Goar, Bingen, Boppard, Mainz, Cochem or Trier.

So with all the pictures and reports of Carnival coming to a close this year, don’t forget to check out beautiful locations like Oberwesel and take advantage of IP’s special booking offer. Unfortunately, Carnival only comes once a year, so make sure to visit Oberwesel with IP this summer.
