First impressions in Bournemouth

Thursday, June 20th, 2013

Hello,
After some hours of driving here ( I think it must have been 12 ) we finally arrived in Bournemouth. But unfortunately right there a problem started. Our rooms weren’t already finish for us. That really put down the mood although we even did not know that it will take some more hours to get into our apartments! Luckily our Flats were quite a reparation for the time we had to wait for it. We have nice rooms, very bright and with our own bathrooms. Also there’s a Community room with a kitchen for all of us (Even though there’s no equipment like pans, plates or cutlery in. But I don’t even know any of the student who really thinks about cooking here ).bou1

In the free time we stayed in the city and at the beach and the park, too. Bournemouth is a really lovely city. I’m really looking forward to going shopping, because of all the nice shops. On Sunday morning we had Pilates at the beach and it was really cool staying there, playing volleyball and laying in the sun. Unhappily the weather isn’t that nice like the week before, so it’s often raining, but not all the time, so you’re trying to manage being at the beach when it’s sunny and having other activities during rain. We already had our first “real” lesson. Because of the test we wrote, everyone stayed today in his own class with pupils having the same level just like you. And the course is really good, with a nice teacher. She is really friendly and tries to make the lesson as interesting as it could be (or as funny as it could be ). We’re talking about British Traditions, British Literary and also the Monarchy of England with the new Prince George ( William’s and Kate’s son ). Even you do not have the same teacher all the time because they chance and so there are two for each class, it’s easy following the lesson. They always have similar themes.

bou2Also the food we get changed, something I do really prefer, so not having the same all the time. And I also like the fruit corner in our collage, but actually why is it IN the college?? I mean wouldn’t it be better having it in the Purebeck house instead of the ocean lounge, so that everyone can feel free to have some dinks or fruits all the time, not only during studying time. (Maybe you should think about this idea) So the only thing I’d like to add for everybody is: JOIN THE DARE NIGHT!!! It was so much fun that I still have stomach ache from laughing. You get a paper with tasks on it and have to fulfil them. Things like dancing at the beach, singing in the streets or making photos with a painted monobrow. So that’s it for now.
The best Greeting, Theresa
