Speaking English is fun, especially when you are confident with your ability to communicate effectively. What’s not always fun is all the time spent between day 1 and the day where you feel you have a strong grasp and feel for the language. So how can an eager learner make this gap shorter and a bit more enjoyable? Intensive English courses are a great way to learn English in a short amount of time while making speedy progress. Polish student told us about advantages and disadvantages of his staying in Winchester

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011

This week…It has been so full of new staff, I don´t know where to begin with. Maybe the food: it was ok. Really. Cause it was always something good to choose and I never went off hungry.
The activities may have been a little too boring – I did not attend any of the workshops, apart from Wellness Workshop. The outdoor sports are all right and it´s good that we can come to you whenever and just ask for a ball or cards or whatever.

The town is not very interesting, especially as we don´t know it very well. Maybe there could be some kind of offish or something with places to visit in town.
The evening programme – good. But I think you should do more commercial for them, as there is not always much people attending.
Lessons – really good. Perfect level; not too hard, but I learn something new every lesson and they are usually not boring.

My holidays so far were very nice. It is so fun! When I arrived everybody was friendly to me and my room was cleaned and it smelt like I would have stepped into paradise. At first I was surprised because I only saw some German guys but in the evening the French arrived. Ils sont très sympa!

Summary of the first impressions made by language school student, Winchester, UK

Monday, July 11th, 2011

I have spent the last week at Winchester, where I have learnt a lot of things. In class we have done a debate about school uniforms and I like that the teachers were funny. We went to Bournemouth on Tuesday on a trip and saw the beach but the weather was not so good. In class we then did a project about Bournemouth.
