One of the best things about signing up for a summer abroad is the “unkown” factor. What will the course be like? Will you make friends? Will there be some awesome parties, or will you just be working on homework the whole time? Well my friend, having spent a few summers abroad myself, I can tell you that the unkown is one of the best things about the program. Don’t worry there’s a whole lot more than just homework!
Summers abroad are exciting! Generally there are a few hours a day devoted to learning your target language, and then the practice (also known as having fun) is what consumes the rest of your day. Whether that is eating at the school cafeteria or out in the city, playing sports with new friends, or signing up for a tour, there is always something to do.
In addition to all the activities going on, the best unkown factor is your fellow students. International Projects , like its name works hard to make sure that its language schools are truly international. Your fellow students will come from all over Europe and are just as excited to learn a new language and get to know new people. After the program, it’s easier than ever to keep in touch by exchanging emails, Skype names, phone numbers, or even posting comments on the IP facebook page.
Besides participating in new activities and making new friends, the most unforgettable unkown factor is your experience. Spending the summer abroad is something you will never forget. Learning a language and taking in all the new sights, sounds, smells, and getting to know new people will provide you with once in a lifetime memories and countless photos.
So when you start thinking about summer 2012, don’t forget to factor in the “unkown” and check out what International Projects has to offer.
