Exmouth is a safe and beautiful seaside resort with one of Devon‘s most popular sandy beaches. Enjoying the benefits of the Gulf Stream Exmouth has a very mild climate which makes it an ideal place for an English language programme for parents and children. Exmouth attracts a lot of families from Britain and abroad during the summer months! There are plenty of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants in and around the town centre.
Exmouth is situated directly at the mouth of the River Exe 15 km away from historic Exeter. The town is the ideal place to discover the Jurassic Coast, Torquay and the English Riviera, Dartmoor and many other sights.
Your child or your children will participate in our junior summer course with lessons in the morning and activities in the afternoon. You attend an English language course for adults in the morning and you can either spend the rest of the day as a family or you can take the opportunity to have some time without your children. As the programme is very flexible and can be designed to your wishes, you can make up your mind on a daily basis.
Our language school in Exmouth
All lessons take place in the Exmouth Youth Centre and in Exmouth Community College, in the heart of Exmouth and within 20 minutes walking distance of each other.
Our language courses are attended by students and their parents from all over the world and have been designed specifically for language learners who are visiting a foreign country for a short period. Maximum class size for children and parents is 15.
All our teachers are native speakers and qualified in teaching English as a foreign language. Teaching material is provided. You’ll take a placement test upon arrival, which determines your course level. The following levels are catered for (children and parents): lower intermediate (A2), intermediate (B1), upper intermediate (B2), advanced (C1).
At the end of the course, you’ll receive a certificate indicating your language level according to the Common European Framework of Reference Levels.

General English Course: 15 lessons (x 45 mins) per week
Lessons normally take place from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 11:45. Each of the three morning lessons focuses on a specific area of language learning: grammar and language work, reading and listening, or communicative activities and speaking practice. Our aim is to provide you with the vocabulary and grammar required for effective communication and particular attention is paid to improving speaking and listening skills.
Intensive English Course: 20 lessons (x 45 mins) per week
The Intensive Course consists of the General English Course plus an additional lesson per day (11.45 -12.30) in which key areas of language learning are practised in more depth.
English Language courses for parents
General English Course with 15 lessons (x 45 mins) per week
Lessons normally take place from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 11:45. Besides the above mentioned 15 lessons, you will get an additional lesson per day (11.45 -12.30) in which key areas of language learning are practised in more depth.
Business English Course with 25 lessons (x 45 mins) per week
You will follow the General English course for three lessons and you’ll get two additional lessons per day in a smaller group (max. of 5 students). In these lessons subjects regarding business English, such as presentations, meetings, negotiations, conferences, letters, etc will be covered.

Self-Catering Apartments
Guesthouse: Bed & Breakfast accommodation in a cosy English guesthouse in a single, double, twin or family room with en-suite toilet and shower facilities. Some of our guesthouses are located close to the school while others are a short bus-ride away.
Hotel: Bed & Breakfast accommodation in a comfortable hotel in a single, double, twin or family room with en-suite toilet and shower facilities. Our hotel is only 15 minutes away from the school.
Self-catering apartments: We offer luxuriously appointed coastal and town apartments, only 15 minutes away from the school. The apartments have been designed to the highest standards offering the latest in facilities and equipement. All apartments accommodate 4 persons and offer two bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom.
The coastal apartments include large seafront-facing balconies with spectacular views over the Exe estuary and seafront.
Bed linen and towels are not included but can be hired at a charge of 58 GBP per week for four persons.
Parents and children are always placed in the same accommodation. Nevertheless, you can decide whether you spend the afternoon and evening together with your children or whether your children should join our Activity Programme.
Activity Programme
Children join the activities organized by our international team with sport activities, beach activities, trips, etc. Parents normally organize their days on their own. We organize a welcome reception with a campus tour and a pub evening with a designated member of staff giving you the chance to get to know the other parents and to receive valuable tips on what to do during your stay.
English language programme Exmouth - how to get there?
Airport transfers are not included in the price, but arrival and departure transfers can be provided as an additional service from/to Bristol and Exeter. On the day of arrival our Meet & Greet Service will be waiting for you at the exit area of customs and will take you directly to your course centre. On the day of departure, you will leave Exmouth as required in order to make sure you arrive at the airport in time to check in. Of course, Exmouth has got its own train and coach station if you want to travel independently.

Our English language programme in Exmouth is suitable for children aged 12-17. Accommodation can also be provided for additional family members, but at least one child and one parent have to attend an English language course.
