Learn about German history, culture, and people in Germany’s beautiful capital. Moreover, take advantage of being in a German-speaking atmosphere and improve your language skills and knowledge.

Berlin is one of the most diverse capitals in Europe, with the historic city of Potsdam in easy reach for day trips and cultural activities.
You will stay in our residence in Berlin Friedrichshain, just a skip, hop, and jump away from the River Spree and midway between Alexander Platz and Ostbahnhof. Classes are held in the morning, with exciting activities organized by our staff in the afternoons and evenings.

The language school in Berlin

Our lessons take place in spacious classrooms directly in the residence or nearby. Language courses are attended by students from all over the world and have been designed specifically for young people visiting a foreign country for a short period of time. Maximum class size is 15. All teachers are native speakers and qualified to teach German as a foreign language. Course material is provided, and has been carefully selected and compiled for originality, content, and appeal to young people.
You’ll take a placement test on arrival, which determines your course level. The following levels are catered for: lower intermediate (A2), intermediate (B1), upper intermediate (B2) and advanced (C1). At the end of the course, you’ll receive a certificate indicating your language level according to the Common European Framework of Reference Levels.

Language school Germany – Learn German

Intensive Course: 20 lessons (x 45 min) per week
Lessons generally take place Monday through Friday between 09:00 and 12:30. The four morning lessons focus on the main areas of language learning: grammar, reading and listening, communicative activities, and speaking practice. Our aim is to provide you with the vocabulary and grammar required for effective communication. Particular attention is paid to improving speaking and listening skills.

Super-Intensive Course: 22 lessons (x 45 min) per week
This course includes the intensive course and also 2 one-to-one lessons per week.

Accommodation

Residence: Live and socialize with your fellow students from around the world in a Youth Guesthouse in Berlin. You will stay in a multi-bedded en-suite room (4 students).
The Youth Guesthouse is located in the heart of Berlin, only a stone throw from the river Spree and a midway between the Alexander Platz and Ostbahnhof. A district which has something to offer for everyone, nice bars, little´galleries and trendy stores. In the bar area of the Youth Guesthouse you may play billiard or simply chill out after an eventful day. Also of the weather is nice you have the possibility to relax in the garden behind the youth hostel, or play volleyball or basketball.
WiFi is provided in the residence lobby.There are public payphones and a launderette in the residence.
You will receive full-board accommodation with breakfast, a warm lunch (packed lunch on days of excursion), and a cold dinner.

Home stay (minimum age 16 years): You may also stay in a twin room with one of our friendly home stay hosts, most of whom have been welcoming students for many years. Single rooms are available on request (extra charge). Some live close to the centre while others are a bus-ride (max. 60 minutes, costs for public transport included). You’ll get full-board accommodation with breakfast and dinner with your home and a packed lunch.

Activity Programme

A supervised programme with the "NEW IN BERLIN TOUR", sports (soccer, volleyball, climbing wall, bowling, squash, and badminton), cultural activities and get-together evening is included in the price.
Besides this, there is one full-day excursion to Berlin or its surroundings for our guests staying a minimum of 2 weeks.
All these activities are included in the price. Additional activities may be offered in the centre as an option at an extra cost.

Supervision and Welfare

Our friendly and helpful international team with staff members from England, Germany, Spain, France and other countries will run a fully supervised activity programme and guarantee supervision.
Your safety and welfare is our top priority: there is one supervisor responsible for 15 students.
The members of our team have been carefully selected for their responsible and caring attitude and for being fun-loving and outgoing. They are the people you can turn to at any time for assistance.

Airport and railway station Transfers

Airport and railway station transfers are not included in the price, but may be provided as an additional service from/to Berlin Tegel and Schönefeld Airports and from/to Berlin Main and East Station. On the day of arrival, our Meet & Greet Service will be waiting for you and will take you directly to your host family or residence. On the day of departure, you will leave your course centre as required in order to make sure you arrive at the airport or train station in time to check in.
For arrival accommodation will be available Sundays between 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Departure will be Saturdays after breakfast between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
In case of early/late arrival and/or departure a supplement of 15 € will be charged.
