Junior Summer Courses

  • Great sports facilities on campus
  • High standard en-suite accommodation
  • Close to London and the seaside

You always wanted to know how to play ultimate frisbee? Or try Yoga? Then our centre in Chichester might be the ideal spot for you! Chichester is a small city in the south of England, approximately half-way between Portsmouth and Brighton and just a 2 hour drive from London. The impressive city centre stands on the foundations of an ancient Roman-British city and quite a lot of its medieval city walls are still in place. The streets have kept their cross-shaped layout, radiating outwards from the famous medieval market cross leading to the North, South, East and West shopping streets with their small shops and cafés. Join the numerous activities organized by our international team, or use the great sports facilities. Meanwhile, you will get to know a lot of students from different cultures - in the summer 2015 there were about 150 students from 10 different countries on campus each week.
Another great thing: in about 15 minutes the public transport takes you to the beaches in West Wittering or Bognor Regis.

The Campus

Our English summer school, the Bishop Otter Campus der University of Chichester, is located in the middle of vast parks and beautiful gardens and just a 10-minute walk from the city centre. The IP Ocean Lounge, where you will be able to meet friends from all over the world and where most of our activities take place, is situated at the heart of the campus. The IP Fruit 'n' Fit - Corner offers you water, tea and fruits all day long.
Besides this, the huge campus offers extensive sports fields for soccer, volleyball, basketball, handball and other games.

Our language school is part of the Europa School of English which is accredited by the British Council and is a member of English UK. Instruction takes place in bright and spacious classrooms on campus.

General English Course

15 lessons (x 45 mins or 11.25 hours) per week
Lessons normally take place from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 11:45. Each of the three morning lessons focuses on a specific area of language learning: grammar and language work, reading and listening, or communicative activities and speaking practice. Our aim is to provide you with the vocabulary and grammar required for effective communication and particular attention is paid to improving speaking and listening skills.
The following levels are catered for: elementary (A1), lower intermediate (A2), intermediate (B1), upper intermediate (B2), advanced (C1).

Intensive English Course

20 lessons (x 45 mins or 15 hours) per week
The Intensive Course consists of the General English Course plus an additional lesson per day (11:45 -12:30) which is a project-based lesson emphazising your writing skills. If you have registered to enter the Trinity Oral Examination a specific preparation is offered in the 4th lesson.
The following levels are catered for: elementary (A1), lower intermediate (A2), intermediate (B1), upper intermediate (B2), advanced (C1).

Mini Group

20 lessons (x 45 mins or 15 hours) per week
This is a highly individualised course. The lessons are based on the same concept as the intensive course for groups of up to 15 students. Working in very small groups allows you to focus on your own language needs and problems. Together with the teacher you can decide what you want to work on and which aspects of language you want to improve.
The following levels are catered for: lower intermediate (A2), intermediate (B1), upper intermediate (B2), advanced (C1).
