Learn English, French or German in a real castle – let a dream come true in a small town in Rhineland-Palatinate this summer in Germany! Diez, on the banks of the River Lahn, is famous for its romantic castle, located on top of a mountain overlooking the town.
You will live in the castle with fellow students from Germany and other countries. You will have interesting German, English or French classes in the morning and participate in exciting activities, organised by our staff in the afternoon and evening. From the castle you can take a small path leading to the idyllic town, where you will discover shops and cafés. The “Lahnwiesen”, an area of green meadows on the banks of the river, is also within easy reach. Spend your language summer in Germany and learn English, French or German together with children from all over Europe!
The language school in Diez
Our lessons take place in spacious classrooms directly in the castle or nearby. Our language courses are attended by students from all over the world and have been designed specifically for young people, who are visiting a foreign country for a short period. Maximum class size is 15. All teachers are native speakers and qualified in teaching German, English and French as a foreign language. Teaching material is provided, and has been carefully compiled and selected for originality, content and relevance to young people.
You’ll take a placement test upon arrival, which determines your course level. The following levels are catered for: absolute beginners (A0), beginners (A1), lower intermediate (A2), intermediate (B1), upper intermediate (B2). At the end of the course, you’ll receive a certificate indicating your language level according to the Common European Framework of Reference Levels.
Please note that complete beginners can start their course only on the 21th July.
Language summer in Germany – Learn English, French or German
Intensive Course: 20 lessons (x 45 mins) per week
Lessons normally take place from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 12:20. The four morning lessons focus on the main areas of language learning: grammar and language work, reading and listening, communicative activities and speaking practice. Our aim is to provide you with the vocabulary and grammar required for effective communication and particular attention is paid to improving speaking and listening skills.

Accommodation
Residence: Live and socialise with your fellow students from many different countries on campus!
You will stay in multi-bedded en-suite rooms (4 students) in the castle of Diez. The castle disposes of a generous entry with reception, café and a terrace. Public laundrettes with coin-operated washing and drying machines as well as public phone booths are situated in the residence and a safe is available at reception for free.
You will get full-board accommodation with breakfast, warm lunch (packed lunch on days of excursion) and dinner. All meals are taken in the dining hall of the castle.
Please note that you will have to leave a deposit of 50 Euros upon arrival.
Activity Programme
A supervised activity programme with sports (soccer, volleyball, basketball…), dancing, swimming, workshops and parties is included in the price.
Besides this, you will get a full-day excursion every Saturday. Possible trip destinations are Koblenz or Frankfurt.
All these activities are included in the price. Additional activities may be offered in the centre as an option at an extra cost.
Canoeing Special
The Lahn is one of the most popular rivers in Germany for canoeing - it is ideal because of its impressive and unspoiled natural landscape, far from the overcrowding and street noise of modern cities. The cultural landmarks and the varied run of the river with easy rapids make it suitable for beginners. If you are interested, you can book our Canoeing Special and you will have a canoe trip on one afternoon a week. This special is not included in the programme but can be chosen at the time of booking as an upgrade.
Diving Special
Diving and getting unforgettable underwater expressions – having the possibility to get an insight in diving in a small lake in our centre in Diez. A professional diving instructor will give you main information and brief you before your diving lesson will start. After a security check, the instructor will accompany you on your first way under water in ratio 1:1. Of course you will get the full diving equipment and the guide is at your side all the time and will introduce you in the basics of diving for about half an hour. This special is not included in the programme but can be chosen at the time of booking as an upgrade.
Supervision and Welfare
Our friendly and helpful International Team with staff members from England, Germany, France, Spain or other countries will run a fully supervised activity programme and guarantee supervision.
Your safety and welfare is our top priority: there is one supervisor responsible for 10 students. The members of our team have been carefully selected for their responsible and caring attitude and for being fun-loving and outgoing. They are the people you can turn to at any time for assistance.
Airport and railway station Transfers
Airport and railway station transfers are not included in the price, but arrival and departure transfers can be provided as an additional service from/to Frankfurt International Airport or from/to Frankfurt Main Station. On the day of arrival, our Meet & Greet Service will be waiting for you and will take you directly to your course centre. On the day of departure, you will leave Diez as required in order to make sure you arrive at the airport or train station in time to check in.
If you book an Unaccompanied- Minors-Service with your airline, please be sure to request our Unaccompanied-Minors-Service as well.
For arrival accommodation will be available Sundays between 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Departure will be Sundays after breakfast between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
In case of early/late arrival and/or departure a supplement of 15 € will be charged (one way).
