Summer English classes in Dublin – Ireland’s young and trendy capital
Welcome to Dublin, Europe’s youngest capital! With almost 1 million residents Dublin is world famous for its literature, culture, and architectural wonders. Next to the well-known Trinity College and Guinness Brewery lays city’s legendary pub culture. In Dublin alone there are more than 6000 Pubs worth visiting.
A fine mixture of young and old Dublin is a very modern city today. The European capital of the New Economy provides its younger residents with a plethora of trendy shops and cafes to hang out at. For these reasons and many more Dublin has also acquired “cult status” from its young travelers. It’s no wonder that Dublin embraces the small town atmosphere versus a large Metropolis.
Our partner school is located in Blackrock, about 8 Kilometers south of downtown Dublin. Blackrock sits directly on the coast, and was the place to be in the 18th century. Although we are now a couple centuries ahead, this magnificent beach has changed very little.

The Campus
Blackrock College is a central stop in Dublin’s public transportation, only 10 minutes by train or 25 minutes by bus from downtown Dublin. The old campus is surrounded by beautiful greenery and breath-taking scenery. Accommodations, classrooms, and recreational facilities for Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Rugby, Tennis, Indoor- Swimming, and community rooms are conveniently located on campus or close by.
In the campus’ historical buildings you will feel a sense of history and welcome in your guest country Ireland. You may also spend your free time here; meet up with your friends and tutors to participate in various sports, or just relax and watch a game or two.
You will also find Public Telephones and a Laundromat conveniently located on campus. There is also a Safe on campus for your use. Unfortunately, there is no internet access on campus but an internet café is just a 5 minutes walk from the campus area.
