FAQ: Which is the right language course for me?

  • Think about how much time you want to spend on lessons during your holiday and what you want to learn at your destination
  • Nearly 40% of our students took part in a standard course – it is a good balance between a holiday and lessons
  • If you want to learn more intensively and still want to have enough time for fun activities, we can recommend the intensive course. (Around  50% of our students choose this course)
  • If you want a very intense and effective course, you should go for the mini group course
  • All courses take place in the morning so that you have enough time for your friends and the activity programme in the afternoon
  • If you don’t mind having lessons in the afternoon, you can gain a lot of knowledge on the Summer College Course, the Intensive English plus IELTS course or the super-intensive course and also improve your presentation skills

General English Course
15 x 45 minutes (11.25 hours) / week

Lessons normally take place from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 11:45. Each of the three morning lessons focuses on a specific area of language learning: grammar and language work, writing, reading and listening, or communicative activities and speaking practice. Our aim is to provide you with the vocabulary and grammar required for effective communication and particular attention is paid to improving speaking and listening skills.
Lessons normally take place from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 11:45 (including breaks).

Intensive Course
20 x 45 minutes (15 hours) / week

The Intensive Course consists of the General English Course plus an additional lesson per day (11:45 -12:30), which is a project-based lesson emphasising your writing skills.
Lessons normally take place from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 12:30 (including breaks).

Mini-Group Course
20 x 45 minutes (15 hours) / week

This is a highly individualised course. The lessons are based on the same concept as the intensive course for groups of up to 15 students. Working in very small groups allows you to focus on your own language needs and problems. Together with the teacher you can decide what you want to work on and which aspects of language you want to improve. The Mini-Group Course is available in Exeter and Biarritz.
Lessons normally take place from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 12:30 (including breaks).
