We’re ready for Winchester! Read short day summaries and take a look at the most current pictures and videos directly from Englands former capital. In this blog post you’ll find everything interesting from week 1 in Winchester… 🙂

Day 1: Welcome to Winchester!

Here we are! The first day in Winchester! We are so happy to meet all our new students who arrived in the morning. During the afternoon we went to town and did an orientation walk, where we showed the students all the landmarks in Winchester. Then, we came back to the centre where we ate dinner, had TTT and a fun evening event: the kids needed to complete a series of tasks in less than a minute….

Day 2:  Action, action, action!

Our second day in Winchester was full of different activities. We had activities in the morning, the afternoon and in the evening. During the day our students were able to play sports, draw, go to town and the most important thing: they had a chance to meet each other. We finished the day with the IP dance!

Day 3: Lessons start

Our first Monday was so exciting. The IP students had their first lessons, where they had their test and got divided into the classes according to their level. We also had some afternoon activities like making bracelets and a town walk. In the evening we prepared some popcorn and our wands to watch: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Day 4: Quiz night

Today we had a sunny day in Winchester. The students had their real first lessons in the groups which were put together yesterday. As always our program included fun activities and some of our students went to Summer College, where they learned a little bit more about the history of Winchester. In the evening we had a tricky but fun quiz night.

Day 5: Bournemouth, here we come!

Today we had our first trip: Bournemouth. Our students had a wonderful time while they were visiting the landmarks in Bournemouth like: The Bournemouth Pier, The Bournemouth Eye and the Bournemouth Gardens. Afterwords they had free time, where they were able to explore Bournemouth by themselves. In the evening we did a Scavenger Hunt, where our students took a lot of funny pictures:

Day 6: Activity time!

Today we had a wonderful time. As always we had a lot of fun and activities of different types. We played capture the flag with our extremely active students, “create your own t-shirt” for the creative ones, and a town walk for the ones who preferred to do some shopping or to just sit in front of the Cathedral. In the evening we had casino night, where our students played different games.

Day 7: A first little goodbye…

Today was a day full of creativity and dancing. In the afternoon we made postcards and played some football. In the evening we had just-dance where we danced the IP dance and performed lots of other songs. The sad part of the day was that we had to say goodbye to four of our students that are leaving us tomorrow evening.
