During our lessons the focus lies on improving and enhancing existing language knowledge. We want to enable you and your children to talk freely in a foreign language – without any inhibitions. That is why we train listening and reading comprehension, conversation and grammar. Because we know that learning is most effective when many senses are involved, we adopt a communicative approach to teaching. As often as possible we engage our students in discussions, role-pays, presentations and pair work.
The lessons take place in small international groups of max. 15 students, so our teachers can devote their attention to every student. You will take a written and, where appropriate, an oral placement test on the first day of school or in some cases in advance online. After that you will be placed in the class corresponding to your language level. Therefore you can be sure to learn with students of the same level of ability. Learning materials are included in the price, unless specified otherwise. At the end of your course you will receive a certificate including an individual assessment following the criteria of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Our teachers give you and your children an understanding of the language and the culture, contributing immensely to your progress in learning a language. All language teachers are qualified specialists and have had additional training to teach English, French or Spanish as a foreign language. At least 90% of our teachers are native speakers; all others have the same level as a native speaker.
All of our own language schools in Bournemouth and Teignmouth - or a carefully selected partner language school – are frequently checked with regards to quality from independent organisations. The facilities and offerings differ from school to school, but you will always find a contact person, who will assist you with any enquiry you might have. Most schools have a space to meet up with your fellow students, for example, a cafeteria or a lounge. In addition some schools are equipped with a library, Internet access and a self-study room.
