Excursions are a part of our programme and included in the price. During your first week you have one half-day trip included. If you stay more than one week you will have one additional half-day excursion and one full day trip per additional week.

Each excursion consists of a guided tour of the area with some interesting background information and stops at the nicest photo locations. Our supervisors will not only tell you more about the city but also where the coolest shops and cafés are, because after the guided tour you will have some free time with your friends for shopping and discovering on your own! The amount of free time allowed depends on the students’ age and on the Traffic during the trip. We reserve the right to organise excursions by public transport.

We offer the following Trip Destinations. Please keep in mind that you will be told about the trip destinations once you are on site. You cannot choose the destination on your own.

Half-day trip destinations: Salisbury, Southampton, Winchester, Durdle Door, Poole & Christchurch

Full day trip destinations: London, Brighton, Oxford, Bath

Bournemouth is ideal for surfing (wave riding). For those of you who want to combine English lessons and the surf experience, we offer this special course with our surf partner in Bournemouth. In the mornings you will attend the General or Intensive English course with your fellow students.

The surfing course consists of three afternoons with two lessons each. Equipment will be provided. Depending on the weather, tide and the size of the waves the surf lessons might vary. Therefore, paddle boarding is offered as an alternative when the weather conditions don’t allow surfing.

Please bear in mind that booking this course combination may prevent you from joining other activities or a scheduled excursion.

This special is not included in the programme and must be booked in advance at least 2 weeks prior to arrival. It Can also be booked on site if we have space left.

Welcome to our student residence at IP Bournemouth! We’re thrilled to have you as part of our community, and we want to ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay during your time here. Here’s everything you need to know about our accommodation and meal plans:

Our residence consists of 10 floors, with each floor having 8 flats. Each flat is shared by individuals of the same gender. In each flat, you will find 5 en-suite bedrooms, each equipped with its own toilet and shower. Flats also provide a kitchen area, designed as a social space for you to hang out with your flatmates. Please note that the kitchen is not equipped with cooking appliances, but a fridge is available for your convenience.

Laundry service is available for a nominal fee of £5, and you can use washing and drying machines operated through a downloadable app on both Android and iPhones. All rooms are lockable, ensuring your privacy and security.

Inside your room, you’ll find a comfortable bed, a desk for studying, and a wardrobe with one shelf and one hanging rail for your clothing.

We conduct a deep clean of your room and change the bed linen once a week on weekends. Light cleaning services are provided mid-week to keep your space tidy.

Free WIFI access is available to help you stay connected. Towels are provided, but please remember to bring your own beach towels for those sunny days by the sea.

Our residence is conveniently located, just around 15min walk (1 km) from IP Bournemouth.

As a residential student, you’ll have access to our meal plan, which includes three daily meals. Breakfast is served from 8:00 to 8:45, lunch from 12:00 to 13:30, and dinner from 18:00 to 19:00. All meals are provided at IP Bournemouth, ensuring you have nutritious and delicious options to fuel your day.

For those on Full Day Trips, packed lunches are available.

We cater to various dietary preferences, including vegetarians and special diets such as gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan and no-pork options.

Welcome to our homestay program at IP School, where we aim to provide a warm and welcoming environment for our students during their stay. Here are some important details about our homestay arrangements:

Students typically stay in twin rooms, and triple rooms are available upon request only. We make an effort to house students of different nationalities in the same room or with hosts wherever possible. Students are accommodated with individuals of the same gender and, when possible, of similar age groups.

All of our host families have undergone DBS checks and adhere to our strict homestay guidelines. They are carefully selected by our local Accommodation Officer to ensure a safe and comfortable stay for our students.

Students receive breakfast and dinner with their host family. A hot lunch is provided at IP School. Vegetarian food options are available to cater to dietary preferences.

For other special diets or food allergies, please inform us in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Please note that Halal and kosher food options are not available.

Bedding is provided and changed on a weekly basis. Towels are also provided for your convenience. A reasonable amount of laundry (one load per week) is included in your homestay.

To ensure a comfortable and personalized experience, we limit the number of students in each household to no more than four.

Host families assist students with travel arrangements between their homes and the IP School on the first day of school.

Hosts may be located in Bournemouth, Poole, or Christchurch, and they are typically close to the school. However, in some cases, students may need to commute for up to 45 minutes by public transport.

Please note that the cost of public transportation is not included in the homestay fee and is estimated at approximately £20 per week.

We are committed to making your stay at IP School as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any specific requests or questions regarding your homestay, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Accommodation Officer. You participate in a compulsory programme consisting of a wide choice of afternoon activities and at least one planned evening activity. During town walks our staff will accompany you into town. You will then have the opportunity to explore the city centre with your friends in pairs or bigger groups for a period of up to two hours.

Teenagers aged 16 or 17 are free to experience and explore things with their friends in pairs or bigger groups on and off campus. Our supervisors provide a good mix of supervision and personal freedom for this age group. Participation in the afternoon activity programme is voluntary for students over the age of 16.

You will be part of a TTT (Time to Talk) group of up to 25 students. In the lunchtime TTT you tell your supervisor what you want to do in the afternoon and the supervisor will put you in the respective sign-up list which will be checked when the programme starts. The same happens at the dinner time TTT for the evening event.

You can choose a Self-Arranged Journey. This requires you to be accompanied by your parent(s) or a Guardian to our centre in Bournemouth. Please respect the required arrival and departure times. You should arrive on Sunday between 09:00 and 18:00 on your arrival day. On departure day, Saturday,  you should be picked up after 9:00, after Breakfast.

We also offer a Low Budget transfer from/to London Heathrow for all our UK. The You should arrive, on a Sunday, at London Heathrow Airport before 16:30 (for non-European students we recommend arriving before 15:00). Our Meet &Greet Service  will be waiting for you at the terminal and will accompany you to your transfer service. Our coach shuttle will depart from Heathrow, or a nearby pick up station, at approximately 18:00 – to 19:00. After approximately 3 hours you will be dropped off at the school in Bournemouth. This service can be booked as a return service only. Transfers will be provided by well-known coach companies with DBS checked drivers.

On the day of departure, Saturday,  you will be dropped off at London Heathrow Airport at about 11:30 – so please book your flight after 14:00. A staff member will accompany  you to your respective terminal and check in desk. In the morning, the transfer departs from our school in Bournemouth.

If you book an Unaccompanied Minors service with your airline, please request our Unaccompanied Minors service. The Low Budget Transfer is only available on the indicated arrival and departure days.

In case you can’t meet the required times for the Low Budget Transfer we are happy to organise Individual Transfers for you from/to London Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Southhampton or Luton Airport. Transfers are done with well-known taxi and transfer companies with DBS checked drivers. We offer a one-way service to the centre and /or a return service to the airport for a flat rate. On the day of arrival our Meet & Greet Service will be waiting for you at the exit area of customs and will, if not requested otherwise, take you directly to our school in Bournemouth, where students will either be picked up by their hosts or walk to the residence.

On the day of departure, Saturday, you will leave Bournemouth as required in order to make sure you arrive at the airport in time. Our driver will accompany  you to your respective terminal and check in desk.

If you book an Unaccompanied Minors service with your airline, please request our Unaccompanied Minors service also.

Out-of-hours arrivals/departures: you will in most cases be taken/picked up directly to/from the homestay or the residence. Please note that host family student arrivals/departures between 6:00 and 22:00 will be collected by their hosts at the school and dropped off by their hosts there. For very early/late arrivals/departures in/from the centre (24.00-6.00), an alternative accommodation needs to be arranged.
